Why is this a good time to think about a Home-Based Business

Why would you want to start a home-based business now? Probably because you work in an industry that is going through some hard times and you can see the writing on the wall. Sooner or later you are going to be one of the people who receive a pink slip and become one of the unemployment. And employment news is pretty bleak. You know that things have been going downhill for a while. When the economy was going great you did not see the need for a home-based business your job was secure and everything looked rosy. But when people who had gotten in debt way over their head with mortgages and credit cards they started to default on their loans. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac two of largest holders of US real estate mortgages (own several trillion dollars) started losing value in their portfolio when the mortgage defaults started. But that was only half the story as the banking industry also became involved.

For years large investment banks had packaged thousands of these loans and sold the paper to banks all over the world. That paper which had been sold as fully secured was now discovered to be no good. Banks became suspicious about the liquidity of each other and started tightening up credit lines. It is, as usual, one of those cases where one thing leads to another, affecting one area, then another, and the spiral downward continued causing some major banks to fall. And as things continue to affect each other, consumer confidence wanes. The prospects for a home-based business grow brighter. .

The economy truly is like an internal combustion engine. As long as there is oil in the engine, gasoline in the tank, and the engine is properly lubricated, the engine will run very smoothly. But if you run out of oil, then the engine will seize, doing a lot of damage to the engine. Finding a home-based business can add more oil to the engine. From uncertain economic times has come some of the greatest innovation that we know today. The home computer industry was born out of the recession of the 70s, for example. Times like these are when people tend to think not of the traditional ways to make money, but of the non-traditional ways, and the Internet and your computer can help with that.

If you want a home-based business that will be here for the next ten, twenty years or more, then do some research and look at what trend has been consistent during the past twenty years or more. I believe I have chosen the best home-based business because I buy customers. Lots of customers are what every successful business enterprise has, and I buy them from the company I am with. I earn commissions on the purchases of the customers, and I have never been happier because I don’t have to waste money on the useless marketing methods such as purchasing leads. Gettin your home-based business online.

When you want to go on the web with your home-based business, you will need to choose a hosting company to host your website on their servers. Hosting is a monthly fee, ranging from $3.00 all the way up to $15.00 or more depending on the type and size of the hosting. There are some main things to look at when you are deciding on hosting. They are space, bandwidth and any other special features.

The first thing to consider for your home-based business is how big your website will be. How much room is allocated to you in order to host your website. Hosting size is measured in megabytes (mb). If you look at how bid your digital pictures are that you take you will soon realize that putting a lot of pictures on your website will increase the size . So keep the graphics and images down to a minimum and you will be ok.

Next, you want to think about bandwidth for your home-based business website. Each time someone visits your site it takes bandwidth to display the website for him. Bandwidth is typically measured in megabytes (mb) or gigabytes (gb). Most hosting companies will assign you a bandwidth quota, and you will have to pay extra if you go over that quota for any particular month. This is not normally a problem unless your website contains a lot of video and audio files, or lots of high-resolution graphics. So once again here is another reason to keep your graphics and images to the minimum. Once your home-based business website starts getting millions of visitors per month, this may become a problem. Don’t worry about it at first. If you decide to do some really fancy things with your website, then it will be something you will need to think about.

So keep your home-based business website simple, not too many pictures or graphs and concentrate on putting good content and the correct title and meta tags. More on that later. For more information go here

So, you’re interested in starting a home-based business?

One of the tricks with any home-based business is to ease your way into one. Keep your regular job while you build your home-business. Start your business part-time as you build it up. When it reaches the point where you are making enough money, you can quit your regular job. Doing this gives you security, piece of mind and you won’t be taking risks and depending on a new home-based business to support you.

You can help yourself stay motivated by setting goals and completing them and working your home-based business every day in some small or big way. It doesn’t really matter as long as you have a business plan and keep chipping away at it until it happens.

You will also need discipline and motivation. Having this is just as important as having a business plan in place to start your home-based business. You need to be willing to get things off the ground yourself, and often willing to work for no financial return at first, or very little financial return. It helps to have vision and have a business plan in place.

As you begin to start your home-based business, you may come across negative people who will discourage you and make you feel less confident. You must ignore these people and only let yourself focus on the positive. Try to find people who want the same out of life as you do and mix with them. You will be able to stay motivated about your future goals if you have someone to share them with.

The last thing you need is faith in yourself. With these few things in place you will have the ability to have a great start with you new home-based business. For more information check here

I love a home-based business

A home-based business cuts down the stress on my life and the associated risks of a heart attack. I have no traffic to fight going or coming from work. I have no boss to keep happy except myself. I have no employees and therefore do to have to deal with what I consider the most stressful part of business employee relationship.

In a home-based business I can work when I choose to work, I can play when I choose to play and I can do personal errands when I choose to do them.

In a home-based business, I can set my own hours, I can take holidays anytime I want to I can spend more quality time with my family. I never have to miss another little league baseball, school recital, birthday party, and thousands and other things.

A home-based business allows me to take my car into the garage any time that I feel like it instead of after working hours or on weekend when everyone is doing the same thing. I do not have to pick up groceries after working hours or on weekends.

A home-based business allows me to golf during the off hours when the course is not so crowded. No waiting to tee off. No waiting behind crowds.

Home-based business opportunities

So you want to be your own boss and own your own home-based business. The first things you have to decide what are you going to sell. And yes you have to sell something in order to make money. One of the easiest home-based businesses to start up is to turn your hobby into a business.

You know years ago when I first started on the internet I remember running into a web site of a person who turned their hobby into a home-based business. I do not remember what I was searching for but suddenly I was looking at the web site of a self taught Artist who lived some where in a small village in northern British Columbia. This person had taken pictures of his paintings and put them on his website. Each were numbered, had a little description of the painting, a few words about the artist, the price and an order form attached. I was very impressed and never forgot it. Here was a person who had a hobby and turned it into a successful home-based business.

The other successful home-based business story is about my brother in law who is an amateur musician addicted to yard/garage sales and flea Markets. Every Saturday morning he would be up at the crack of dawn, eat a quick breakfast and then be off in search of the day’s garage sale in the local area. He brought everything and filled his house with good junk (his wife’s words). The next day he would be at the local flea market selling the junk that he picked up the day before. He noticed that musical instruments did not last very long on his table especially at the start of the school year. He gradually started concentrating on musical instruments. Gradually he became known as the man who always had good musical instruments for sale. He moved his business into his home, started renting and selling musical instruments to school children and started giving music classes. Then e bay arrived and he started selling musical instruments there. His home-based business is took off. He will never become a millionaire but is earning a nice second income from his hobby that he turned into a home-based business.

So before you go out and spend a lot of money up front for your home-based business take a look at what skills or expertise you have that may fill a need for other people. A home-based business opportunity may be waiting there to be discovered. To see more information go:

Starting a home-based business

Starting a home-based business should not be a spur of the moment decision. Online advertising, just like commercials on radio or TV, are designed to put you into a decision making mindset. Don’t! Research your business and make sure that your first impressions are correct. You wouldn’t go out and sign on the dotted line for a McDonald’s franchise without having all of the information available. Online business is no different so do your research when you are starting a home-based business. Where do you start? Well I would start with the most important part of the business and that is you.

Get a sheet of paper and write down your interests, your hobbies, your skills and any expertise you may have, then decide is there a market for any of these. Starting a home-based business this way will give a great advantage over a lot of other people who never do any research on home based businesses. research-
